Dear Patient,
We are writing to inform you of an important change at the practice. Our current clinical patient computer system supplier has gone into administration, and as a result, we are required to move to a new system.
This change is essential to ensure we can continue providing a safe, effective, and reliable service. However, the transition will affect the availability of some services during June. The practice has not been given any extra resources to manage this major change. We are required to complete this additional work using existing resources.
Service Changes:
From Tuesday 4th June to Monday 17th June, the practice will operate an urgent appointments only service.
From Tuesday 18th June to the end of June, we will offer limited routine GP appointments while our GPs and staff become familiar with the new system.
During the urgent-only period, we will need to prioritise the most unwell patients to ensure they receive prompt care and treatment. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this time.
Test Results:
Due to the system change, from Wednesday 5th June to Monday 17th June, we will be unable to give out routine test results.
If you have had routine tests done prior to 5th June, please contact the practice from 17th June onwards to enquire about your results.
If there are any urgent test results during this period that require immediate attention, a member of staff or Doctor will contact you directly.
Home Visits
Between 5th June and 17th June, if you require a hoome visit, please contact the surgery in the usual way before 10am if possible
Home visist are for patients who are housebound and too unwell to attend the surgery.
All home visits will be triaged by a Doctor.
Repeat Prescriptions:
Due to the change in clinical computer system, the current online ordering service for repeat medication will cease at 5pm on Tuesday 4th June.
Once the new system is in place, we will email all active online users with instructions on how to set up their new online account.
To support patients during this period:
From 6th May when you request your prescription we will also prepare your June repeat prescription.
Your June prescription will be held securely at the practice and sent to your nominated pharmacy at the appropriate time in June.
If you do not have a nominated pharmacy, you will need to collect your prescription from the surgery in June as usual.
We have informed all local pharmacies about the system change and the unavoidable disruption, and we appreciate their cooperation in helping us manage this transition.
Stay Connected:
It is very important that we have an up-to-date mobile telephone number on record for each patient. This will help us contact you promptly, particularly if urgent information needs to be shared.
Please visit the practice website www.park-medical.co.uk or Facebook page for further information and regular updates throughout the transition.
This disruption to GP services is entirely beyond our control, and we understand it may be frustrating. We ask all patients to show patience and understanding throughout this period. The transition is placing additional workload and pressure on all practice doctors and staff.
The Department of Health has made all locally elected politicians aware of the scale of this major system change. We aim to minimise disruption and keep all patients updated as we progress.
Please also note that the practice operates a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of verbal or physical abuse of our staff. Any patient found to have engaged in such behaviour may be removed from the practice list.
We would like to sincerely thank all our patients for their support and understanding during this time. We fully recognise the impact this change has on you as well, and we truly appreciate your patience as we work through this essential transition.
Yours sincerely,
